Japanese basics for overseas CCJP users: (Part 2 - party sort screen and kizuna function)

Hello again! In this section, I'm going to try to cover the party screen as clearly and with as much detail as possible. Again, I will be covering the writing from left to right, top to bottom.

Party screen

  • おまかせ編成 - automated party selection (You will be prompted for a job class in the next page if you select this function.)
  • 所持数 - number of cards in possession
  • 控え確認 - check characters in reserve
  • マップ - map
  • サブパーティ - sub party (not shown in image)

Once you press "控え確認", you will see all of your arcana in a row like this.

f:id:meguriau:20151129221407j:plain

  • 戻る - return (to the previous screen)
  • マップ - map

When you have hundreds of characters in reserve, sifting through them all to find what you want is not the best use of your time so learning these characters may be helpful!

CCJP has three basic filters that you can sort your characters: by arcana (アルカナ), voice actors (声優) and illustrator (イラストレーター). I personally don't find the latter two useful so this write up will be about the arcana filter.

Sort

  • パーティ順 - sort by party order
  • 手に入れた順 - sort by acquired order
  • HP順 - sort by HP order
  • ATK順 - sort by ATK order
  • 枚数順 - sort by number of copies (this does not mean LB count, it is just a method of finding duplicates. Everything is listed in order of the Japanese alphabet あいうえお, etc)
  • 名前順 - sort by name
  • コスト順 - sort by cost
  • レベル順 - sort by level

Type

  • 未覚醒 - characters without skills unlocked

職業//Job class

  • - soldier
  • - knight
  • - archer
  • - mage
  • - cleric

Rarity

(self explanatory)

Weapon type

[Translation note: some of these are technically verbs but I've translated it as the weapon most associated to said verb so that it's not too wordy.]

  •  - sword
  • 打 - axe
  •  - spear
  •  - bow and arrow
  •  - magic
  •  - holy
  •  - fist
  •  - pistol
  •  - rifle

Note: This screen is virtually identical to the sort screen that you get when you are filling in an empty party. The only difference is that some of the card types are missing (enhancers/weapon evolution) and there is an addition of a button which says 絆未覚醒 (characters without kizuna unlocked).

This brings me to talking about kizuna abilities, a mechanism that is yet to be released in the global version. In Japanese, (kizuna) means bond and, in the context of this game, a bond between friends. Just as friends help each other out offline, in the Chain Chronicle universe, friends can strengthen each other.

What is kizuna?

On a basic level, kizuna is a mechanism by which you can equip a reserve character onto your party members in order to give a HP/ATK boost.

Are there any requirements for equipping a character as kizuna?

Yes! Reserve characters must be at level 40 or over to unlock their kizuna skill. Also, you must have completed the main story up to some point within the Nine Territories to unlock this mechanism.

What kind of benefits do kizuna give?

As mentioned earlier, equipping characters as kizuna gives a boost in HP and ATK. There are two classes of boosts: (Type A) matching job class and (Type B) matching tavern of origin. The one exception is "Tsukamu-kun", our SSR hero because his affiliation is with the Volunteer army so, regardless of region of origin, he will give a 12% boost to both HP/ATK of any character.

To describe the Type B boost more clearly, I've provided a quick example. Fatima and Filiana both originate from Sage's Tower so you can see there are some words in green text on her card. (所属ボーナス) You can see that even though Filiana is only at LB1, her boost is almost comparable to that of Legale (MLB) and slightly higher than that of Takritan (LB3).

Another benefit of kizuna characters is that when a base character is equipped with a character of the same job class, they are given an extra ability. To use Fatima and Filiana again as my example, when Filiana is equipped to Fatima, she increases her strength (攻撃力が増加) and reduces damage taken (受けるダメージが減少する) during battle.

Are there any downsides to kizuna?

Just one, really. Equipping kizuna eats away at your cost. If you want to equip SSR characters as kizuna, each will use up 4 cost. If you multiply that by 5, that's already 20 used up which can be incredibly painful if you're a new user.

Is it possible to sort for kizuna?

Yes, just like with your party, there is a very elaborate sorting system for kizuna.

To do so, open up your page and hit the top right button. This should give you two columns of text.

f:id:meguriau:20151129233451j:plain

The options are as listed below

Column 1

  • 同職のみ - display same job class only
  • 同所属のみ - display same affiliated region only
  • 同職/同所属のみ - display same job class AND affiliated region only
  • 選択可能のみ表示 - display all selectable options ONLY (i.e. party members are taken out)

 Column 2

  • HPの上昇率が高い順 - order of highest HP boost

Thanks for reading and I hope this guide helped you. I will be doing a post tomorrow about key words/phrases  you should look out for so that selecting appropriate characters as kizuna will be a breeze.
